About TMBRA
The Texas Mountain Bike Racing Association was formed in the
summer of 1996 by the promoters of the Texas Championship
Series races in an effort to bring added continuity and professionalism
to the series. Today, The TMBRA calendar has races all across
the state of Texas featuring a wide variety of race courses.
Ranging from Desert singletrack in the western part of the
state to the twisty trails in the Piney Woods of Eastern Texas
and Louisiana, The races promoted on the TMBRA calendars offer
mountain bike racers all concievable types of terrain.
All
TMBRA races feature USAC
recognized classes and categories, as well as an active
Junior program and the groundbreaking "Kids Kup"
program. Thus, regardless if you are a seasoned veteran in
racing or if you are looking for your first race opportunity,
there is a race for you.

TMBRA Board
The
TMBRA board is made up of two representatives from each race.
As well as representatives from various cycling clubs. These
representatives bring a broad base of experience and knowledge
with Cat 3 to Cat 1 class riders, along with bike shop
owners, land owners,and bicycle activists.
The
TMBRA Executive Board Officers are:
President:
Scott Schaefer
Vice President: Tobin Behling
Treasurer: Lisa Nye
Secretary: Cynthia Weisinger

Some Words About Rider Courtesy And The Environment
It has been brought to our attention that a good number of
riders who use gel or other energy products drop the wrappers
on the trail, as they are racing. A number of racers have
complained that this is distracting while land managers and
clean up volunteers have pointed out that these are havens
for fire ants and a sure-fire way to get stung. We ask that
all riders place empty wrappers in their jerseys. The rider
has to reach into his jersey to pull out the product, why
not put the waste in the same place?
As land users we must be responsible in our actions whether we
are out pleasure riding or racing. The environment that we
can harm by being careless knows no difference.

Rider Representatives
Two Rider Representatives are available to racers in Texas
to make their voices heard to the TMBRA Board of Directors.
For the 2009 season, the Rider Representatives are:
Demian Whitworth
Don Losawyer
