I hydrate (Gatorade/Cytomax , Endurolytes, and Gels).
I keep a high cadence and I spin in circles.
My saddle is positioned at the right height.
I had an internal medecine doctor tell me I just needed sodium to stop my cramps. This past saturday (during a 6 hour race) I had the worst cramps I've ever had. When I tried to spin through them, the quadriceps (specifically the vastus medialis) locked up. The vastus medialis convulsed. Is it time to hit up a sports doctor? |

Chilito:
Are you doing daily stretching excercises? "Stretching" by Bob Anderson is an excellent resource to help you learn the correct technique and sport specific stretches. Do add some extra salt to your food while at the same time eat foods high in potassium (citrus, tomatos, bananas, dairy products). A sports medicine evaluation is worth while as would be a referral to a physical therapist.
