Bike Doc,
The lump under my skin on my leg is now raised, red and very painful...I think I should have it checked out by a doctor. Would a regular GP work or should I find a specialist? Or am I just being paranoid and should wait it out?
Thanks,
Amy B. |

Tituschic:
A GP, family practitioner and/or internest are all acceptable. The raised, red painful nature of the lump is concerning. You could be developing a local infection (an abscess). Do get it checked out. If your physician feels it is necessary an incision and drainage may be in order and for that an urgent referral to a surgeon may be needed if your doctor is not comfortable performing such a procedure.
