The girlfriend woke up yesterday with pretty severe upper backpain (between the shoulder blades) and it still hurts today. She did not do anything to precipitate it. We're grad students and she only has UT student insurance, so we do not know what our options are for getting her looked at in Austin. She banged up her elbow this summer and and RN at student health services told her to take an allieve and ice it. That only hurt her for a month.

stackout:

Have her evaluated at the student health services at UT. If it is a simple muscle strain then warm soaks, massage and stretching will be of benefit and no significant cost. (Get the book Stretching by Bob Anderson to assist in this area.) If it is not a muscle strain or spasm, then something more serious could be going on and the evaluation at the student health services may help direct you to the best options for the work up and treatment.

Thanks,
