Knee. I was on a long ride and got off to stretch each hour to keep the body loose. I bent down, no bobbing, just a nice deep stretch (heals together fingers grabbing toes.) That's when i felt the pop. All the way home and for the next few days i felt a clicking from the back of my knee. Rest, Ice (ok i goofed that one up heat felt better) and elevated it. Now there's no popping or clicking but it constantly ache's and feels like there's something in there like swelling or something.
Any clues as to what’s going on? It’s been a month.
I have an apt next Monday with a Sports Ortho Surgeon btw.

Thanks
Tony

Tony:

You likely tore a tendon, the fibrous rope like tissue that connects the muscle to the bone. You may even have torn a ligament, the fibrous tissue that hold bone to bone at a joint. That pop was the tendon or ligagment fibers tearing loose suddenly. Do keep you appointment with the Ortho Doc. He or she may wish to get an MRI to evaluate the extent of the injury. If it is only a partial tear then conservative measures may likely be pursued. If it is a full tendon or ligament rupture, then the Ortho Doc will discuss your options further, physical therapy, brace support, surgical intervention, or other options.

Thanks,
