When I ride, the upper left side of my left calf gets sore. It started mostly on my road bike, but now happens when I am riding my MTB as well. It was noticeable at about 45 minutes into my ride today, and by the top of the hour it was enough to ruin my ride.
Suggestions on what I should do from here on out? I have been doing stretching after my rides for the last two weeks, to help the leg not hurt as much. But it doesnt seem to be working.
My road cleats are all the way to the back, and my mountain bike cleats are pretty far back as well.
Any suggestions? |

ybzoc:
Isolated pain to one muscle makes me think you may have incurred an injury to that muscle, the tendons or bone. Rest and massaging along with daily stretching may be in order. I do not recommend anti-inflammatory medications often. They have been shown to impair healing an impede new blood vessel formation which is required for training muscles that get bigger. Pain is a signal that something is wrong and if you find that rest, stretching and massaging is not getting you relief, get an evaluation by your doctor.
