Well since we are talking about pain..

I am having serious back pains. I went to a chirpractor and he told me it was related to an SI joint??

Have you ever experienced anything with this before doc?? Once my back tightens up.. it doesn't matter what gear I am in.. I am just in serious pain..

Raycer-X:

It may be something quite simple. The XC racer spec'd bike has a long stretched out cockpit position. Now if you are a young, lithe, Pro-NORBA racer, you probably can tolerate this position. Now if you are amongst us remaining mere mortal, your body (including your SI joint) may rebel at such a low, stretched out position. Try a simple cure: ride with a shorter taller stem and double check your saddle position to make sure it is not set too far back. I had experienced this malady when I got my first "Pro-Spec'd" mountain bike. The too long and low stem and combined with a saddle that was set too far back did havoc on my back. I put the chiropractor and the orthopedic doctor out of business simply by switching to a shorter taller stem and bringing my seat forward. Give it a try.

BTW, don't forget to do daily stretching of your back muscles as well to help keep you limber and less prone to overstretching injury.

Thanks,

I've been going to the Chiropractor three/week for the past two and half weeks and just got down to twice a week. Lower Back sharp stabbing pain right at the belt line. Legs were going numb sitting at the desk. I did a seat adjustment to move me in a bit and seems to be helping. I am going to get a slightly shorter stem next to try and finish it out.

Great advice.
