Hey Doc, I almost hate to hear what you will have to say, but I crashed at the race at Bar-H and somehow managed to land on my head. My neck has been stiff and sore for a while but was improving, and still is, but I was putting my head into a car through an open window about 2 weeks ago and I hit my head on the top of the door and kind of snapped my head back. I felt some pain in my neck and now I have a pain behind or in my left eye whenever I move it quickly or to the extremes of it's "movement area". I still have some sore muscles in my neck but not too bad. What is going on here?
Thanks,
Gary |

Gary:
You are right in hating to hear what I have to say, as you suspect the worse. Get you neck checked out immediately. You may have a subtle fracture of a cervicle veterbra (neck bone). Other injuries include a severe ligament strain to the cervicle or even a spinal cord contusion without evidence of a radigraphic abnormality. You should get full cervicle spine X-Rays as well as CT, and an MRI of your cervicle spine. If you have a fracture that is inherently unstable, you could do the wrong thing at the wrong time and become paralyzed.
