the toothpaste. I felt a painfull popping sensation, as if the tendons in my hand had snapped. The pain lasted for several minutes.
A similar situation happened several month ago, not the toothpaste, but a situation where I was not applying much force and then ... bam this tendon failure thing.
Thanks for any insight as to what this may be. |

did the pain resolve on its during the first episode or did you get treatment? |

It was a good thing it happened while squeezing your tooth paste and not your main squeeze....
I suspect you have either a tendon that is popping in and out of the sheath along one of the fingers or possibly a fibrous nodule on one of the tendons that is popping through the sheath, what is commonly called a trigger finger. Visit with your doctor about it; you may benefit from some local physical therapy or occupational therapy (OTs tend to focus more on the hands than the PTs do) and possibly a refferal to a hand surgeon if the symptoms worsen or persist.
