I have been told by numbers of friends that if you drink 3 servings of 8oz of 2% or skim milk over ther corse of a day and do a lot of exercising (like mountain biking) you can build muscle and loose fat fast. Is this good for the human body. (of course drink water too).

mbx5nitro:

There have been studies showing exercise plus dairy supplimentation with yogurt or dairy protein source (casein or whey) of meal replacement high protein suppliments when combined with exercise can help reduce weight and body fat percentage as well as blood cholestrol. These are two of such studies that have been summarized:

It likely will benefit you provided you may prudent dietary choices and eat a well ballanced diet high in fiber, complex carbohydrates and lean sources of protein. Let me recommend Nancy Clark's "Sports Nutrition Guidebook."
