The pain being only on the right and radiating down to the knee would suggest you may have some nerve impingement. Have an evaluation by your doctor to look for evidence of nerve compression such as decreased sensation along the nerve distribution lines (dermatomes). If there is decreased sensation, local weakness or pain in a nerve distribution and investigation for the cause of the nerve impingement is in order. Rest and anti-inflammatory therapy may be prescribed. Depending on your physical exam findings further evaluation with an MRI or X-rays of the back may be in order.
