Dear Doc,
I am experiencing problems w/ my hip flexor tendon. Seems to be even pulling on my lower back. Ice gives relief but even walking aggrevates it. I may have had my seat too high but I've hardly ridden in 2 weeks. I'm afraid to stretch or do yoga. Went to a guy doing rolfing & after the first 24 hrs. I did experience some relief. Now back to square 1. If you recommend some treatment, or a doc, can you give me a good orthopedic/sports doc in Dallas? Or should I try the rolfing again?
Thanks for any help. |

plinky pie:
Stretching should be of benefit, but you will want to start off gradually. Get the book "Stretching" by Bob Anderson. The "Rolfing" does involve gentle stretching and can be of benefit. Check with the Cooper Institute in Dallas for a sports medicine doctor. Also, your doctor can provide you a referal to a physical therapist for evaluation and instruction in stretching.

For a good PT, e-mail Lisa at lisatom69@airmail.net. She freelances and may be able to help or at least offer some suggestions. She is familiar with sports specific doctors in Dallas and could have a suggestion or two though the guys at Coopers are top notch! |
