Greetings TMBRA racers. We hope everyone is staying safe at home this weekend. We are all super bummed that our marathon Miles of DisComfort was cancelled. Proceeds from that race go to STORM who use it to build and maintain the wonderful trail network in the greater San Antonio area. This is a pretty big financial blow to this group, so we encourage all of our racers to attend their other fundraiser The Hill Country Challenge this spring.
As far as the end of the marathon series is concerned, we will take your best 3 out of 4 races and mail you your awards. Our State Champion jerseys will be handled the same way as always . Please keep an eye out for the instruction email coming in a week or so.
We are super excited to start our 30th season on Feb. 8th at Lindsey Park in Tyler Tx. The organizers in Tyler are super stoked to be the new spring season opener. They have been perfecting their course and team for the past 6 years in our Texas Cup, and I’m positive they are ready to meet the challenge. You can register for our second race The Rocky Hill Roundup here: https://www.bikereg.com/rhr-roundup Shimano will be joining the fun at the Roundup, by bringing a fleet of demo bikes with the newest, latest and greatest di2 XTR. We are proud to partner with Shimano and hope everyone takes advantage of the opportunity!
We have updated our TMBRA Team Challenge as well. Thanks to our generous sponsor, Pearland Bicycles, this year’s competition is free for everyone and we added Team Challenge Champion T-shirts to the mix. We have also streamlined the sign up process. So how do you sign up? Easy, just make sure all of your information is correct and matches the information you gave us when you purchased your plate. Make sure all of your team mates are using the SAME EXACT TEAM NAME. We will do the rest and turn on the team points after the second race of the season. You can find all of the team challenge rules and information here: https://www.tmbra.org/wp/team-challenge/
Finally, we are super excited to announce our fall Texas Cup Series dates and the return to a beloved old course on 9/13/2026.
Flow Motion – 8/30
Double Lake – 9/13
Forest Creek – 9/27
*Harlingen – 10 / 11 ( extra points race )

*We will use a different points structure this year in Harlingen with first place receiving 70 points and second 65 and so on. ( Basically a 10 point bump race)
See ya on the start line!

On the team challenge 2026 it mentions a form and a 15-person roster. Not seeing a link for that yet, is there something we need to fill out and send in?

Willy read the team challenge paragraph above. We made it real easy this year
Second question, we pick up our 2026 plates at the registration table at Tyler? Wasn’t able to confirm my new number in online reg for the Tyler race yet, not sure of the number I was assigned.
Check your spam for your confirmation email. if not there email Jeff and he will re send it. Yes, pick up your number plate at any TMBRA event. We take them to every race.
WOW, 30 years of TMBRA!!! I was there at the start and y’all have come a long way. Memories I still cherish include racing: “The Chihuahuan Desert Challenge” way back in 1992 my second ever MTB race (my first was in Nov. 1991 at Emma Long Park in Austin put on by Hill Able), riding my recumbent from Warda to Lajitas with George Rikard and Jay Reader to the race the CDC again. Too many races to count have gone by but all bring back fond memories, Kids Kup, Pay Dirt, (“Pay Dirt Bridge” in Warda is in homage to the volunteers who helped me build it), two separate races in Warda after flooding storms that earned the definition of mud races (“not as muddy as Warda”), the camaraderie with my fellow racers and promoters, the kids my kids raced and grew up with (now all adults). Ask the Bike Doc forum, fixing bikes (The Bike ER), patching up racers, promoting parity for women racers, building trails at Bluff Creek Ranch, watching my kids and your kids racing and growing together, all give me joy. THANKS FOR THE MEMORIES! My body is wearing out but my memories and joy they bring are strong. I plan to be in Warda for the 30 year reunion! I look forward to seeing y’all again.
