News and Announcements

Hey Racers, here are some news and announcements as we move into our Marathon season presented by Hill Country Bicycle Works .

2022 @cycleprogression Texas Cup :
Fist off, a big thank you to Cycle Progression for sponsoring the Texas Cup this year. If you attended the final race at Tyler and did not get your overall award, hang tight. We are contacting RE-Geared and will have them shipped out to you. Also a big thank you to all of our race directors for hosting us and making the fall series one of the best in years. Also a big thank you to all the racers for coming out, being part of our traveling MTB circus and making memories. Kudos to all!

2022/2023 Hill Country Bicycle Works Marathon Series:
Info and registration links are starting to come in to TMBRA HQ. As soon as I get the links I post them on our website www.tmbra.org Our website is where to find the most recent and up to date info. We have added a marathon rules tab. I suggest clicking on that tab so you are up to date on the rules for the series, ( especially the part about your racing age ). As you may have seen, the planned race in Marfa is no longer on the calendar. I know, I’m bummed too. Unfortunately planning was just not coming together for it. It’s still a possibility for the future but if and when it does happen, we want to make sure it’s a high quality event that meets our standard. Especially since most folks would be driving very far to attend. This means that the EE has moved back to it’s traditional date on the calendar. With the exception of the race in Fredericksburg, all of our marathon race directors will be offering a shorter race for those not up to the full marathon distance.

Spider Mountain:
We have been working with Spider Mountain on how to best rollout our racer discount at the park. I think we have made it as easy as possible for our community. Here is the deal: TMBRA racers will receive a one time free lift ticket. How do you get it? Easy, just bring your race plate with you when come to the park to pay. Show it at the ticket office and your done. You can also receive %10 off logging at Thunderbird lodge. You get that discount the same way, by presenting your current race plate. My apologies to our racers who went up to Burnet this weekend for the Austin Rattler. I tried to get everything worked out before last weekend for you but things just didn’t come together.

@mellow johnny’s paydirt:
Finally, a big time shout out to Mellow Johnny’s and @Trek for suppling a Trek X-Caliber 8 XC bike as part of the Pay Dirt program grand prize. The bike retails for $1699. We will also have items from Wahoo, Shimano, SRAM and others as part of the raffle. Remember to be eligible for the raffle and receive 60 points towards your spring series total you must complete 10 hours of trail work by May 12th.

We will have more exciting announcements in the coming weeks, but for now that’s all I’m going to give ya! We hope to see everyone at our first race of the marathon season at Palo Duro St. Park on Nov 19th.

Cheers
El Presidente
